NEW CHALLENGE BEHIND THE CUT!!!

It will take you about 30 seconds to do this, please please please take 30 seconds and post a response to the challenge! Or even just post! Something...anything! Please?

Create an original item for the Harry Potter world, something like Bertie Botts Beans, Sneak-o-scopes, etc. only make up your own - give it a name, and explain what it does. When all the responses have been posted (as comments to this post, please), the most creative and unique item will be a requirement in the next fic challenge, and the winner and runner ups (if there are enough entries) will get fancy banners for their LJs.

Have fun!

shrink trunk: place as many items of whatever weight into the trunk. can hold infinate #s of everything from the size of a pea to the size of a full grown human. the trunk sorts the item into a specific pocket, that can be regenerated by mere vocal request. once all items are loaded, press a small green button on the side of the trunk and it and all items shrink to fit into the pocket of any wizarding robe.

took more than 30 seconds to come up with that.

Hmmm. I am kind of stuck on this one. Ok, I don't have a name for it, but I do have an idea. An enchanted device that is used to help the ever studious person absorb as much information as possible, by placing the device on the book and then sleeping ontop of the device so all of the information seeps into your brain. You would never actually have to read the book again. You would instantly just know everything that was in the book. Now a need a name, a name, Osmosimparare, or something like that.

I shall patiently await the challenge where I will get to employ my new toy...however dumb it may be.

I think it'd be dead useful to have around. Brilliant idea - and the name is great too.

Osmosimparare.

It sounds like something Jo would come up with - you know, her ironic sense of humor - the name is really long and complicated, but all you have to do is sleep. Very creative!

This is only the second response I've gotten to the challenge so far, so it may be another week before the fic challege shows up. But keep checking back!

Thanks!

I'll keep coming back, your challenges keep me on my toes... they also help me with my original works too!

I have often thought it would be useful for the kids to have bags that don't split open, because someone's bag inevitably breaks open like Cedric's or Hermione's. You know, all the brainy kids seem to have bag problems. It would hold up to 30 pounds of stuff but still only feel like 3 pounds. Exactly 3 pounds.

It would be called the Irrefragable Satchel.

Irrefragable is really a word, I promise

It's been a while, what happened to the challenges?

Yes, it has been a while, hasn't it?

I kept meaning to post a new challenge, but no one really seemed to respond to the ones I did post, so I kept putting it off...and then I dropped back in lurkerdom for a while, 'cause there isn't really anything new happening in terms of the canon plotline...and I picked up a new ship in a different fandom and started hanging out over there...so basically, I'll try to post challenges again - my muses are on vacation apparently, so if they aren't fantastic challenges, my apologies in advance.

But, I do feel compelled to mention that I created this community specifically for the other members to post challenges in - and then those who chose to respond to the challenge post their response over at the h_hr_ficlets community.

I'm sorry there weren't more challenges - feel free to post your own, try to get other people to post theirs too. I tried to encourage the posting of challeges - but no one else really picked up on it.

To summarize, because this is really just my long winded way of saying something very simple, I'm sorry for not posting challenges like I said I would and I will try to get back to posting in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to post your own challenges - maybe people will follow your example instead of mine.

Thanks for letting me know that people still remember this community and care that it continues! Motivation in a comment - brilliant idea - so, Thanks!

Oh I didn't realize we could post our own, maybe I should learn to read ... lol. That is fine, I was just wondering, really. I just thought about it today ... and I know how the response thing goes, I have a few communities myself and sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get people to participate, but you can't please everyone's muse, lol.

Haha. I know exactly what you mean. And, yeah, feel free to post whenever you feel like it - posting is most definately *highly* encouraged here. Lol.

And, of course, just to let you know...you may have seen this already...but I decided that I might as well finish up that last challenge - so if you go check now, theres a new challenge posted that continues off the one to create a magical item for the HP-verse.
